Grass Valley RV Resort sits on a gently sloping parcel at 1462 Auburn Road, just off Highway 49 and directly beside the Nevada County Fairgrounds. The resort is organized in wide, paved rows so even the largest rigs — up to 64 feet — can pull in, park, and level without drama. Every one of the 148 sites is fully paved with full hookups: water, sewer, and 30/50-amp power.

The 4,500 sq ft lodge anchors the front of the resort near the main entrance. Inside you'll find The Market for camp essentials, snacks, and local goods, along with the business center and fireside lounge. The heated pool and spa sit just behind the lodge, so most sites are only a short walk from a swim.

Active areas — the pickleball courts, bocce ball courts, and horseshoe pits — are grouped together so games stay lively without disturbing quieter rows. Two fenced dog parks and the dog wash station are placed at the edges of the resort, giving pups room to run with easy access from every loop.

Practical stops are marked throughout the map, too: the Propane Filling Station and RV dump station near the service loop, garbage and recycling areas at each corner, the laundry room and heated bathhouses with private showers mid-resort, and the designated smoking area away from the sites. ADA-compliant sites and facilities are flagged with the accessibility icon on the legend.

The map's color coding matches our four site types. Premium Pull-Through sites (purple) line the wider central rows — the easiest in-and-out for big rigs and anyone towing a vehicle, with the longest pads in the resort. Premium Back-In sites (blue) sit closest to the lodge, pool, and spa, so you can walk to a morning swim in under a minute. Deluxe Pull-Through sites (orange) offer the same drive-through convenience in the mid-rows, while Deluxe Back-In sites (green) along the perimeter tend to be the quietest and back onto more greenery.

A few insider tips: traveling with dogs, look at the rows nearest the two dog parks on the west side. Planning to spend evenings at the pickleball and bocce courts, pick a site in the numbered 60s–80s. Staying long term, ask the front desk about rows with the best afternoon shade — summer days in the foothills run warm, and a shaded pad makes a real difference. And if you're here for an event next door at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, the sites nearest the main entrance put you a short walk from the gates.

From Highway 49, take the McKnight Way or Empire Street exit and follow Auburn Road — the resort entrance is clearly signed. Check-in is at 1:00 PM at the lodge, and check-out is 11:00 AM. If you're arriving after hours, call (530) 404-5001 and our team will make arrangements.
